Following a drunken bet at a house party, Tom first appeared on
London's stand up comedy scene early in 2009, with a combination of
sarcasm, groanable one-liners and an unhealthy obsession with pirates.
Since then he's appeared at venues across London and has even shown up
on Sky One! Granted, it was in a documentary about body language, but
a gig's a gig. Occasionally, he's even made people laugh...which is
something of a bonus.
Bearing a surprisingly common name, Tom is often confused with Ulster
Unionists, football players and Baptist magicians. He briefly toyed
with the stage name "Tommy Swann", but quickly dropped the moniker
after discovering a mass-murderer by the same name, who by a startling
coincidence was a distant relative. Thankfully, Tom is not a mass
murderer. Say hi to him after a show, he might just buy you a drink.
Especially if the bar has a £10 minimum for card payments.
